How deeply a human being can be touched by a car, is demonstrated by this extremely gorgeous Alfa Romeo Spider 2.0 Type 4. At the time we got our hands on the car, the cabriolet was in less perfect condition than it is now. The fundamental, on the other hand, was 100% okay; that’s why we fell for the Alfa in the first place. However, back then the Spider could use some extra love, which we gladly gave her at our Prins Classics workshop. The result is right in front of you: a thoroughbred Italian two-seater with an open roof and rear-wheel drive.
The red color is almost literally dripping from your screen? You might not be the first one… Recently we have completely renewed the Rosso lacquer in the best possible way. The impact of the paint job on a Type 4 is even greater because it also has the bumpers in body color. The strip between the rear lights, completes the red dressing.
If there’s one car that deserves a color with lots of emotion, it will be this Alfa. We are completely in love with the charismatic appearance of the characteristic roadster. No surprise: Pininfarina is responsible for the design. By the way, the excellent condition of the Spider includes every component, including the soft-top. That’s how the perfection of the paint corresponds to the rest of the car. Which is good stuff!
The perfectionism continues in the interior. It’s only been 5 years since the black/beige interior was carefully re-covered with leather. So you will be fully rewarded when focusing on the great, classy look of the minimalistic, but tastefully decorated Alfa cockpit. The wooden 3-spoke steering wheel, the strikingly positioned gearshift, the two-piece center console and round air vents; every tiny detail reflects Italian passion and authentic craftmanship. Sitting in the Spider means getting touched automatically. The Alfa heart beats faster now than ever...
Time to put the 2.0 liter Twin Cam to work. The engine performs the same as it sounds: phenomenal. The Type 4 grumbles nicely. Technical service before delivery is also included, to ensure that the solid technology remains solid for as long as possible.
The attached history of the last rear-wheel drive Spider may be limited, but once you’ll open up your heart (plus roof) and let the charms of the classic Italian enter, you will forgive her in a blink of an eye. Especially in a condition like this. That’s a guarantee.
