This magnificent Prancing Horse is built in 1979, and was in Italian hands until recently. The Ferrari was a family inheritance and has had only two owners. The family inheritors, who possessed the gorgeous 308 GTB before we did, knew how to keep the sublime condition of this legendary masterpiece, like no other.
The GTB was cherished optically and technically. The family members obviously really appreciated the strict two-seater. The 308 is treated with the respect it deserves. The result is truly amazing: every part of this Ferrari breathes authenticity and unadulterated car history. From the red lacquer, to the aesthetic black leather interior and of course the mechanism: the 2.9-liter V8 mid-engine feels and sounds just like in the early years. This valuable piece of engineering clearly is ready for the next chapter in its extremely impressive life so far.
41 years after the introduction of this mythical sports car, the flamboyant bodywork, dressed in traditional Ferrari red, still impresses. The aggressively contoured GTB was presented in 1975 at the Paris Motor Show as an extension of the Dino 308 GT4, and soon labeled by the public as “most beautiful Ferrari ever”.
The sharp lines, created by top designer Leonardo Fioravanti, back then under the regime of renowned design firm Pininfarina, are as timeless as salient. Leonardo was responsible for the design of many style icons, such as the Ferrari Daytona, Dino and Berlinetta Boxer. As mentioned models, the lines of the 308 are a true appetence for the eyes; the main reason why this car is standing at the base of a substantial range of embodiments. However, nothing beats the original, right?
